Romanian Filmmaking with Andrei Ujica
Our final virtual event was a discussion about filmmaking with Andrei Ujica. Before the event we watched his 2010 film, "The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu" which showed through film, 25 years of Nicolae Ceausecu's life. Ceausecu was the last Communist President of Romania who was overthrown during the Romanian Revolution in 1989.
The film wasn't narrated, nor were there actors with a script. The entire movie was made up of pieces of live footage of Ceausecu put together to tell his story. Mr. Ujica gave us a lot of insight as to how the movie came together.

The film is described as,"a lengthy flashback that takes place in the mind of Ceausescu, and the images of the racconto as well as those of the trial come from official archive footage; Ujica’s view is shown not so much in the framings as in the montage of the material".

At the end of the disucssion Mr. Ujica gave us a preview to a new movie that he was currently working on. We hope to see it when it is released.
